The hotel is attached to the Ballston Commons Shopping Mall and sits astride the Ballston Metro (subway) Station. It is only 10 minutes from downtown D.C.
| Nov. 9: | Sign-in, Visit, Get Acquainted, Set Up Displays & Personal Memorabilia (Scrapbooks, Pictures & Etc), Set Up Chinese Auction (bidding will begin), View Video Tapes, Half-Pot (50/50) Drawing, Probable date for the Reunion Stamp Cancellation, Patriotic entertainment is scheduled for this evening (they are entertaining for a donation -be generous), Shortly after the entertainment the DQS Executive Board will meet. |
| Nov. 10: | Bus to the Iwo Jima Monument for the Marine Corps Birthday Ceremony -we will depart the hotel by 9am, Bus to Arlington Cemetery, visit the Women In Military Service Memorial at Arlington Cemetery ~ should plan to be at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by 1:30pm for DQS Wreath Laying at 2pm, Arlington has their own mini bus tour of the Cemetery (they charge) but it is wonderful. Our bus will leave to return to the hotel by 3pm, DQS Business Meeting is planned for approx. 4PM. Chinese Auction bidding continues (winners will be drawn later in the evening) as well as Half-Pot (50/50) Drawing. The evening is yours to sightsee, relax in the hospitality room, view pictures, slides and tapes or go to the "Delta to the DMZ Dance". |
| Nov. 11: | Bus to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (WALL). We will depart hotel & 7am and go to the "WALL",
9am Veterans Day Services and Wreath Laying Ceremony starts. 12 noon the DQS Woman will lay a wreath at the Vietnam Women's Memorial, ADA Honor Guard from Fort Hood will display colors at the Wall, WWII Memorial groundbreaking ceremony starts 1pm. Bus departs to return to hotel by 3pm or so. DQS Banquet & Program starts (Cash Bar & 5:30pm), Welcome, POW-MIA Remembrance, Blessing- 6:10 or so, Meal by 6:30 followed by the Program) After a short break, the DQS Candlelight Memorial Service will begin. |
