The hotel is situated along the Ohio River, just downstream for its confluence with the Tennessee River. It is on the former site of Civil War Fort Anderson, which was manned by a ‘colored’ artillery outfit serving with the Union Army. The Restaurant/Cocktail Bar, Kincaid’s Landing, occupies the spot where ‘Farmer Kincaid’ ferried troops to Ft Anderson from an encampment across the river in Illinois. Other Civil War sites are located in and in the area of Paducah. Come early and check these and other nearby (Kentucky & Barkley Lakes, Metropolis, IL-Superman & Casino, Ft Campbell & etc) sites/activities out.

We won’t be able to duplicate our Reunion in DC and we won’t attempt to. We will slow things down and make more time available to visit and reminisce; while offering an interesting, enjoyable activity or two. COME, RELAX & ENJOY!

** Those who can are urged to arrive early in the week or before noon on Wednesday (July 4, 2001). On Wednesday afternoon those present will hold a ceremony at the PURCHASE AREA VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL honoring those from the Purchase Area of Western Kentucky who gave their lives (along side of us) in Vietnam. The local American Legion Post will host a BBQ that we are invited to partake in. We will also decorate the Hospitality Room before we settle in to enjoy the "Fireworks Along the River" which originate from near our Reunion HQ (Hotel). SEE YOU THERE!!

Hotel dining will be very affordable! For those who enjoyed Baton Rouge, it’s similar.
