LZ RIVERSIDE RIVER CRUISE
Some of you have asked if we are going to have a cruise on the river at this years reunion. It looks like the answer is YES! All of the details arent in place yet, but we intend to enjoy the hospitality of Captain Micky Fry on the River Princess (a double decked boat with the lower deck air-conditioned and the upper deck open-air). Due to the licensed capacity of 49 per cruise (with a max. of 6 children per cruise), we will need to schedule multiple cruises. The per person price for a cruise will be less than $20 for a 2 hour cruise. We are looking at offering luncheon cruise(s) - depending on agreeable pricing. At this time we are looking at scheduling 2 cruises on Thursday (July 5) afternoon, with the first possibly being a luncheon cruise. We will schedule an additional cruise (cruises if attendance dictates) on Friday (July 6) afternoon, again a luncheon cruise may be offered. Come, relax and enjoy the sights and scenery.
We ask two things of you to help make this the best event that it can be. 1) Plan on arriving in time to sign up for and participate in the cruises. (You may sign up in advance by contacting Ed Allen (812)-845-2303 or DusterEd@juno.com and letting him know when you wish to cruise and how many will be in your party. Leave a message, if no one answers.) 2) Let us (Ed) know your thoughts on the luncheon cruises and of your desire to participate in these. Do so ASAP! We aim to please and desire your input.
Many of you enjoyed our river cruise on the Executive Queen during the 1993 Reunion in Evansville, Indiana and several took advantage of the Harbor Cruise availability when we were in San Diego in 1994. Both received very favorable reviews from our participants. Come and share this experience with us again!
GOLD STAR MOTHER QUOTES ABOUT OPERATION GOLD STAR:
"Thank you so very much! Ill treasure my memories and what you have done for me forever."
"THANK YOU - to you and the Association for sending the Gold Star Mothers to Vietnam."
"It was all that I expected and much more!"
"It made me realize how very proud I am not only of those who gave their lives but of all of you who gave so much of your lives to foster freedom. I was reminded of our own countrys fight for freedom so many years ago. I learned that we have privileges that we are not even aware that we have until we dont have them (even to have a Hamburger ha, ha!). With all our (Americas) faults, it is still the greatest country in the world and I am so glad, and I thank God, that I was born an American."
"Just a note to thank you for a wonderful trip. It was a dream come true; especially what you did for me at Moc Hoa.":
| Lets make some more ladies proud and make some more dreams come true! |
