HELP! - INFORMATION REQUESTS - WERE YOU THERE?

VALOROUS UNIT CITATION: If you or someone you know served in the Tuy Hoa area during Tet 68 and were attached to or operated with the 4th Bn, 503rd Abn of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, you assistance is desired. This Battalion is currently being written up for a VUC. Needed is any information on: number of wounded-by unit, company, battery, etc. if possible; details concerning involvement of the Duster Battery (would be 4/60) including unit designation; unit designations of elements attached to or assigned to 4/503 during the Tet battle; drawings, maps, pictures; casualty numbers of the 5th/95th NVA during this battle; witness attesting the valor of 4/503 or other participants; any other that may be pertinent.

Date of Battle: 30-31 January 1968 He plans to submit this in early November, so don't delay! Contact John Mowatt for possible e-mail address for Major Oerding.
KHE SANH: Jack Stoddard, CW2(ret) is writing a book about his 2 tours in Vietnam. In 1970 he was in a battle at Khe Sanh with his unit 1/77 Armored Bn. He remembers that on the second day 2 - Quad .50's were involved. He says that it was the first and last time he ever saw these special weapons and would like to include them in his book - KHE, SANH MY LAST BATTLE, He would like a picture or pictures to go with the story. LZ SHERRY & ETC.: Dave Blanton would like info. concerning the Dusters and Quads that worked in and out of LZ Sherry with his unit (I'm not sure of his unit at this time). He also
remembers a Searchlight on Tittie Mt. (it may have been known as Whiskey Mt. also). Time
period was 1970-71. He is trying to piece his memories and life at that time back together.

LOCATIONS - LZ's, FB's & ETC.: Mike Kelley (who served with 1/502 Inf - I01st Abn in an area west and south of Hue.) is writing an encyclopedia of US military facilities in Vietnam. He would like to include as many as possible. He needs the names and general locations (grid coordinates and other more specific info. would be great). Any facility - Firebases, LZ's, large bases, base camps & etc. - is desired. All who contribute will be acknowledged in the book.
