Morris/George,
Just to make a small point-not everything the marines recorded was correct:
YES the nva/sappers hit the wire at contien and killed most of 1/9 marines ,amtrack,and a few other rifle marine teams. C-1/44th gave support for that ambush,we spent two days recovering kia.
RT.561 an old tank road at cam lo went to the wash out bridge,c-2/c-3--- and then to contien. I been there many times and seen [ no ] air strip. There was an old lz for helo drops of troops/supplys for the marines and SeaBee's. B OR E-1/9 WAS ALMOST TOTALLY DESTROYED and

I beleave 2/1..[[ this happened in may or june of 67.]]
