Glen; 'Amtrack' is short for 'Amphibious Tractor' and the Marines used them from Chu Lai to the DMZ usually within about 25 miles from the ocean. They sure made a BIG target for an RPG. I think the only vehicle bigger was the "OX" M51A1 Heavy Recovery Vehicle, built on a M103 Tank Chassis (big brother to the smaller M48A3 Gun Tank) and these were very scarce in the Nam.
