I have pretty much turned into a political cynic over the past 40 years and have equal disdain for politicians in general regardless of political affiliation. That being said, Clinton coming off the chopper and saluting made my stomach churn, burn, seize up, rotate, capitulate, flatulate,retch... Can't say I felt much better when Bush Jr. saluted. I'm glad I never saw or heard of Cheney saluting or I might have had the big one. I think I would rather see President Obama just wave rather than salute.
Save the salutes for presidents like Bush Sr., Jimmy Carter and others who served in the military. Just my thoughts, not trying to attack any one's sensibilities.
