actually, depends upon the definition of wear. while serving "in country", it would have been unit patch upon left sholder. wasn't sure it was first field force vietnm (iffv) that far north, but that would have been your left shoulder patch. unless you had prior combat service (i didn't), there would have been no right shoulder patch. after 90 days, if you were transferred to another unit (in or out of country), you transferred the iffv patch to the right shoulder. it would have stayed there for the rest of your service time unless you qualified for another right shoulder patch at which time you could choose wich one to wear upon the right shoulder with the unit patch of your current assignment upon the left.
i don't believe we (dqs) were ever usarv. unless previously/subsequently assigned to usarv, we would never have worn that patch.
