Subject: Re: How were the original dusters at Ft. Bliss marked?

no first hand knowledge of dusters at bliss. but some knowledge of the army administrivia process.

the vehicles would have to be marked with the designation of the higer headquarters of assignment. thus if assigned to the school, they would have been marked usaads upon the right bumper plus the battalion designation. regardless, they would have been remarked (e.g., iffv) upon assignment to to whatever unit they were assigned to in the nam.

as for markings in country, as best i can remember the right bumpers were marked iffv4aw(sp)60ad or if it was just iffv4aw(sp)60ad. [can't remember if there was an "a" in that space (for iffv artillery) or not] and the left with the battery of assignment and vehicle number - as in h-10.
